Swedish Meatballs with Chicken

Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground chicken
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1 1/2 tsp. chopped garlic
- 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp. fresh nutmeg
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. canola oil
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 2 Tbsp. heavy cream
- Chopped flat-leaf parsley, for garnish
- Mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam, for serving
Directions
- Step 1Combine chicken, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, allspice, and nutmeg in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Form mixture into 10 meatballs.
- Step 2Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides and cooked through, 12 to 14 minutes. Remove to a plate. Add flour to pan and cook, stirring 30 seconds. Slowly add broth and cream and cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 2 to 3 minutes. Add meatball and any juices and cook, turning, until coated, about 1 minute. Garnish with parsley and serve over mashed potatoes with lingonberry jam alongside.
