Ah, spring! All of a sudden, the sun is out, lush green is everywhere, and flowers are blooming with all their pretty colors. The whole world seems to be happy again. Taking inspiration from all the beauty outside this season, we’ve rounded up a set of charming country kitchens that feel perfect for spring.
Whether you are a fan of an all-white kitchen or prefer one in a pretty shade of green, you’re sure to be inspired by the kitchen design ideas below, with plenty of green plants and fresh floral blooms to boot. Better yet, these kitchens bring the feel of spring that can last all year long, so even when the cold of winter returns, your springlike kitchen will keep delivering a lovely dose of cheer each time you enter it. And as we all know, we spend oh so much time in the kitchen every day, so it deserves to be a room that makes us smile. Step inside these seven smile-inducing kitchens:
A Bright, White Farmhouse Kitchen
Nothing says springtime like a bright, white kitchen, and the more natural light it welcomes, the better. Bonus points if you have a duck who enjoys the sunshine spilling in, too. “I knew I wanted a kitchen sink with a row of windows that looked onto the land so people would like to do the dishes,” says designer Claire Zinnecker about her Texas Hill Country farmhouse pictured here. Potted plants and a landscape painting also help bring the beauty of outdoor spring into the airy space.

A Tiny Kitchen Filled with Colors That Bring the Outdoors In
As much as we’d like to be outside all spring long, cooking and cleaning often beckon us indoors. So why not bring spring inside with a color palette that echoes the greens of spring buds and blooms and the blues of sky and stream? For the palette of this tiny Texas bungalow, homeowner Melissa Duckworth looked to Benjamin Moore’s Historical Collection for colors that were just right for her early 1900s farmhouse. She selected a timeless cornflower blue paint color to pair with the reproduction wallpaper (“Larkspur 1872” designed by William Morris) and antique mint-colored—and mint condition!—enamel gas range she found on eBay. It all makes for a charming galley kitchen!
A Cheery Yellow British-Inspired Kitchen
Is there any happier color than yellow? We think not, and the cheery hue is guaranteed to make your kitchen feel like spring all year long. Here, in the British-inspired kitchen of our creative director, Maribeth Jones, a botanical wall covering depicting citrus and pomegranates adds even more charm to the color-filled space.
A Kitchen Filled With Flowers, Flowers, and More Flowers
It might sound simplistic, but we can’t overemphasize how much fresh-cut flowers brighten up a kitchen. Set them out in a bucket on your island, in a pitcher on your countertops, in a vase or trio of glass jars on your kitchen table—anywhere you can. Here, in this airy California kitchen, lavender lilac branches pop against the all-white and wood background. Open shelving piled with tableware and cutting boards keeps this kitchen casual and collected.

A Dreamy Color-Drenched Kitchen
Color delivers a cheerful tone to any kitchen, and that’s all the more true if you drench it from the ceiling to the baseboards in the same pleasing hue. In this renovated Mississippi farmhouse, blue cabinetry brings softness to the space and is balanced with brass hardware and darker soapstone on the island.

A Cottage-Style Kitchen Rich with Woven Textures
Woven textures can bring a delightful springtime accent to any kitchen. In this West Virginia home, a trio of wicker pendant lights illuminate the island, while the bistro-style rattan stools add another layer of texture. The green weave of the seating plays off the green hue of the hand-finished terra-cotta backsplash tiles, adding another colorway perfect for the season.
A Charming, Layered Kitchen
We clearly can’t get enough color in the kitchen come springtime, but you can up the vibrancy of your space all the more with a graphic fabric moment, such as on-trend café curtains as seen here. As designer Molly Singer says, “If you have the opportunity to put fabric in a kitchen, take it.” In this farmhouse kitchen, Molly chose a fabric in an Art Deco-inspired pattern (also used for a sconce shade) to complement the duck egg blue cabinets.
