hard to find lego set

Country Living editors select each product featured. If you buy from a link, we may earn a commission. Why Trust Us?

LEGO is constantly pushing the envelope with amazing new sets, but for all the new builds out there, they also retire some older picks. If a set has been around for a few years, there's a strong chance they'll stop making more—and once it's sold out, it's gone for good. If you're on the hunt for rare or recently discontinued LEGO sets, I'm here to help: Amazon has a whole section of hard-to-find LEGO sets that are either seasonal, retired, or low in stock.

Shop LEGO on Amazon

When shopping for LEGO sets, always double-check who the seller is—and do a bit of quick math before adding to cart so you don't overpay. (Typical sets average about 13 cents per brick, with a few exceptions for highly technical blocks or extra minifigures, but resellers sometimes charge more than double that.) We've highlighted a few of our favorite rare LEGO finds available on Amazon below, like the often out-of-stock Back to the Future Delorean, and our favorite fall floral from the botanical line.

If you see something on your wish list here, you'll want to grab it before it's gone—the eBay markups for older sets are wildly expensive. You might think I'm just exaggerating—but since originally writing this story in July, 10 of the sets I originally selected sold out, or are only available on resellers (for substantially increased prices).

LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Majestic Tiger

Creator 3-in-1 Majestic Tiger

I love the Creator sets for kids (or adults) who simply love the process of building LEGO. The same bricks can be used to make a tiger, a red panda, or a koi fish.

It features Gru and five minion pals who can all move in unison with a twisting element. Did I mention that one of the accessories is a fart gun? Seems like something I need to own.
