Sure, you could just buy the jarred stuff, but it wouldn't quite taste as good. Fresh lime juice and herbs make all the difference, flavor-wise. Pair it with some chips warmed in the oven and a cold margarita, and the only thing you'll be missing about your favorite Mexican joint is the crowds.

Ingredients
- 2 (14.5-ounce) cans diced tomatoes, drained
- 1/4 chopped white onion
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 3 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
- 1 Tbsp. pure honey
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Tortilla chips, for serving
Directions
- Step 1 Place tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, and honey in a blender. Puree just until smooth, 15 to 30 seconds. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with tortilla chips. Refrigerate, covered, up to 1 week.
