You can make a whole lot more than just s’mores. (But we have some fun s’mores recipes too.)

Whether you’re going camping or just looking for something new to try over the fire pit in the backyard, we recommend adding these campfire desserts to your summer to-do list ASAP. There are a lot more sweet treats you can make over a campfire (or even a grill) than just s’mores (although we’ll never say no to a s’more). If you’ve got a couple of basic cast-iron pans, you can make all kinds of delightful treats to enjoy after a day of hiking, swimming in the lake, or just setting up the tent in your backyard.

What’s great about many of these recipes is that you can make them with a few prepared ingredients, so you’re not packing unnecessary ingredients with you if you’re actually going camping somewhere in the wilderness. The pineapple upside-down cake starts with a store-bought pound cake, the Toasty Cinnamon Twists use crescent roll dough, and a few options below can be made with premade pie crust. Fruit crisps are extremely easy if you prepare the topping in advance. And of course, we do have a few fun twists and ways to upgrade classic s’mores. Whatever you choose, there’s enough to go around the campsite.
