The Queen was pictured beaming with joy at Windsor this weekend, at the Royal Windsor Horse Show at Home Park during the day, and at the star-studded Platinum Jubilee equestrian extravaganza on Sunday evening.

As part of celebrations to mark Her Majesty's 70-year-reign, the 96-year-old was met with a standing ovation from the crowd as she arrived in the castle arena at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Featuring more than 500 horses and 1,000 performers, A Gallop Through History featured some of the world's leading performers (including Dame Helen Mirren) and highlighted her lifelong passion for horses. Tom Cruise and Katherine Jenkins also appeared in the open air celebration.

Despite ongoing mobility issues, the monarch appeared to be highly amused at the theatre production and was seen laughing at jokes. Comedian Omid Djalili joked about the Queen missing the State Opening of the Parliament, but she laughed and responded by throwing her hands in the air.

Actor Tom Cruise said: "What she has accomplished is historic. She has met presidents, world leaders, people from all walks of life. Not just Americans, but the world knows the dignity, devotion and kindness, that is what I have always felt about her. Someone that understands her position and has held it through a history that's just been extraordinary the past 70 years."

This was the Queen's second appearance in three days. On Friday last week, she was also spotted at the Royal Windsor show as her horse, Balmoral Leia, was announced as supreme champion. Watching from inside her car, the Queen looked relaxed and happy at the event.
