Moggie cats, Labradors and Border Collies are some of the most destructive pet breeds in the UK, according to a new study.

Research, which was conducted by the team at Good Move, analysed the behaviour of pets around the country by speaking to a group of owners. They found that the most destructive pet is a Moggie cat, followed closely by Labradors, British shorthair cats and Border Collies.

Some of the damage these pets have done include digging-up flowers, ripping furniture, scratching household items, chewing their owner's favourite shoes and forgetting where they are, and aren't, allowed to go to the toilet.

"It's no secret that we all love our furry companions, but the little devils can cause damage to our household contents, as our research has revealed," Nima Ghasri, Director at Good Move, says.

"If you're looking to adopt one of the slightly "naughtier" pet breeds, be sure to keep valuable items out of their way to ensure nothing gets damaged. A lot of the time, when a pet acts out, it's usually because they're bored. So, take them for a walk, or grab their favourite toy to play with. After all, you don't want your brand-new sofa, or freshly laid carpet to bear the brunt of their mischievous behaviour!"
