Dog lovers, rejoice! A pop-up Corgi café is opening in central London as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Organised by Pop & Bark, the event will run for one day only on Sunday 29th May ahead of the four-day bank holiday weekend. Designed for Corgi owners and animal enthusiasts alike, the royal-themed event will offer guests dog-friendly cappuccinos, Jubilee "pupcakes", afternoon tea, and spring cocktails for owners to sip on whilst dogs play.

Posting on Instagram, the team said: "In celebration of @theroyalfamily HRH The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we are hosting a pop up event @therefinerybankside in honour of Her Royal Highness' favourite breed and furry consort – her beloved Corgi and Dorgis!

More on the Queen's Platinum Jubilee:

"If you have a Corgi (or just love them) then don't miss the chance to treat your Corgi to a right royal day out, meet lots of fellow Corgis, Corgi owners and dog lovers and be part of an exciting, buzzing experience…"

Described as the ultimate "feel-good event for Corgis", other highlights to look forward to include a designated "Chill Zone" for nervous or older Corgis and guests, an 80 minute "off lead" social experience for dogs, and access to secret guest-only doggy discounts. As the Queen's favourite breed, we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate Her Majesty's 70-year-reign.

Anushka Fernando, who has organised the event, told The Metro: "Our breed-specific events are known to be the perfect way to socialise your dog and we decided to host our very first Corgi event to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee. Corgis have long been her favourite breed and what better way to honour her.

"This is a day for Corgis, Owners and Corgi fans alike with lots to sniff and explore, treats and pupuccinos on arrival, playtime with fellow Corgis and heaps of fuss from the dog-loving humans coming."

You can visit the Corgi café at the Refinery at Bankside on Sunday 29th May 2022. Please note that tickets have to be booked in advance.
