• A new episode of ‘Marshals’ will feature another face out of Nashville: Adam Sanders.
  • He’s a real-life country artist who appears in a bar scene singing his own song.
  • Adam’s cameo precedes several episodes featuring Riley Green.

A sneak peek of this week’s new episode of Marshals finds Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) and Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) at the bar having a heart-to-heart about dating after the death of his wife, Monica, and it’s an important moment in the plot … but we’re trying to hear that great country song being performed behind them. Who is that guy?

Who Is the Country Singer in This Week’s Episode of ‘Marshals’?

That’s Adam Sanders, and he’s not an actor—he has been a hit country music songwriter in Nashville for well over a decade and is an artist in his own right. He also won the 2025 reality competition show The Road, which earned him $250,000 and a slot opening for Keith Urban at Stagecoach Music Festival, which happens later this month.

As for the song? It’s new, called “His to Mine,” and he first shared a snippet with fans on social media earlier this year. Adam writes a lot of songs, including big hits for other artists. Cole Swindell’s “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey” is one of his co-writes, and Dustin Lynch’s “Hell of a Night” is also from his pen.

Adam Sanders’ last album was 2024’s Right in the Middle of It, but he’s expected to release a new studio project sometime this year. “Bible in a House Fire” is his current single. He even got to “talk shop” with Luke Grimes on the set of Marshals, as Luke just released his sophomore country album.

"His type of music is a little different than mine. He likes that old-school stuff that's kind of like '80s and '70s, and I'm kind of right in the middle of '90s country,” Adam explained to Taste of Country Nights in a recent interview. "It was really cool to find out what makes his ticker tick.”

Marshals is a brand-new series in the Yellowstone universe, this one focused on Kayce Dutton, rather than the full Dutton family. The former Navy SEAL is a U.S. Marshal now who’s tasked with protecting the state of Montana. He’s also raising a young son after his wife’s death. The series premiered on March 1 and has been so well received that it was already renewed for a second season. Showrunners seem to be fishing in Nashville to fill out the cast — Ashley Cooke made a cameo already, and country superstar Riley Green is due to appear in several upcoming episodes, playing the role of Kayce’s friend Garrett.

This week’s episode of Marshals is titled “Family Values.” It airs Sunday, April 12, at 8 p.m. ET.
